How to Overcome Postpartum Blues?

FACT: 80% of mothers are affected by some form of Postpartum Blues after delivery - Statistics from the Institute of Mental Health in the US. (Statistics not available in Malaysia due to the taboo surrounding mental health)

What are the best ways to combat Postpartum Blues?

1. Have a healthy and secure attachment with your baby.

At Cherish Postnatal, we encourage parents to spend time bonding with their babies because research has shown that when mothers are in frequent proximity with their baby, their anxiety and stress levels are reduced. We also encourage breastfeeding which is the best bonding a mother can have with her baby. We have an in-house breastfeeding consultant who will provide mummies with the best guidance and support.

2. Lean on others for help and support

Cherish Postnatal's team of registered nurses will provide you with the peace of mind that your newborn are in safe hands. When you need to rest or just have some time for yourself, our team will take care of your baby's needs. On top of that, the stress of parenting comes from not knowing what to expect and how to deal with your newborn. We provide FREE workshops to parents every week given by industry experts to empower parents with the right knowledge to relieve the anxiety and stress that you may feel.

3. Take care of yourself

Happy mummy, Happy baby! At Cherish Postnatal, we are committed to providing the best care for our customers, taking care of your every need, from providing nutritious meals, to herbal baths, to handmade hair and body care, to laundry services, to parenting workshops etc. These will free your mind from the stress of doing things yourself.

4. Make time for your relationship with your partner

At Cherish Postnatal, we encourage fathers to stay in because for many women, the relationship with their partner is their primary source of emotional expression and social connection. With the support of fathers, mummies are better able to cope with physically and emotionally. Besides, parenting takes 2 to healthily bring up a child.Contact us today to find out more about our unique services!
